I have a 97 626 LX, 2.0 L4 engine, 5spd.....it seems to be leaking oil out of the valve seats onto the header pipe so when i start her up she pours out white smoke, i've already replaced the valve covor gasket and dumped more then my fair share of oil stop leak into the engine but it still pours it out .......i REALLY dont want to rip apart the engine down to the crankshaft to figure out this problem so i was wondering if anyone had any insight to what i could be, or how to fix it without 20 hours of engine work, any advice would be appreciated

well you dont have oil comming out of your seats of your valves. you might have bad valve seals . but you say oil is comming out of the head on to your header where from the up part of the head or lower let me know I may be able to help

Is the smoke white or blue?  white is an indicator of coolant leakage, not oil.  Oil burns bluish.

Is the smoke only at start-up?  I'd suspect valve guide seals if this is the case (oil leaks down the valve stem and into the combustion chamber, burning when you start up the engine.)

Have you performed a compression test on your engine?  Is any particular cylinder showing lower compression than the others?  If so, you may be looking at a head gasket leak.

yeah turns out it was a blown head gasket, i was tinkering around lookin for an actual leak and noticed the radiator is brand new with fresh coolant, wich makes since seeing as the moron who owned it before me probably cracked the radiator and overheated it and blew the gasket.........i have the engine ripped down 80% and im getting ready to pull out the head........ugh this is my worst nightmare come true haha
