My daughter's 1991 vert w/manual transmission had a bad starter.  What's with the upper bolt.  I got the nut off after talking to my brather who is a mechanic, but knows nothing of rotaries.  How do I tighten the upper nut on the stud?  I can't seem to get the nut to tighten or the stud to tighten, whichever is supposed to happen.  Any suggestions?

You need to have a wrench on the nut to hold it stationary while you tighten the bolt. Easiest way is to have someone help you with that. Do not forget to reattach the bracket for the wiring harness to that bolt.
