Is it Automatic or 5 speed?

when i had a universal intake kit i forgot a hose to the intake and the car would die until it warmed up

water in the fuel can cause this.
Bad engine temperature sensor can cause something similar ( the one on the back of the block). But usually causes the check engine light to come on.
Air intake filter need changing?
Good luck
