Hey Michael,
I just completed a massive on-line search (12+ pages of BS) on your behave and you're right!!  Sorry, but it seems a 4-1 to be the only header style available for the P5, or the Protos for that matter.
I prefer a 4-2-1 style myself... much better for street/mid-range performance than a 4-1.
But come to think of it, I've never seen a 4-2-1 on a Proto?
If you have the capability (a friend who welds, or one that works in a shop,) and few do I know, you could make one, or have one made, using pre-bent tubing and a MIG/TIG welder?  The only problem I can see might be space limitations, and perhaps that may be why they only offer a 4-1 which can usually be made more compact.
I think the OBX is the standard in the Proto crowd.  I'm not aware of any real problems w/that one... only the one they offer for the 3 series, which has a lot of problems.

I''ve got the obx racing header on my 02 P5 and it looks and sounds good.  Can''t go wrong with it.

Get The Sr Motor sport header http://www.srmotorsports.com/Mazda_Protege_Performance_Exhaust_Parts.html.....dyno my car after and with my greddy sp2 exhaust and my and my aem cold air i gained 24 to the wheels.....had obxr and car not only would not pass inspection at a mazda dealer due to the fact that the stock header has a resonator on it is the giant trash can looking thing if you take the heat sheild off you have to have that on there for it to pass inspection form dealer.......obx also did not make my car very much faster as well very dissappointing........you get what you pay for tho

OUCH!!! That''s a lot for a header. All their prices seem a little high to me.
