It wasn't directed at just you. I'm surprised it went un-noticed for this many posts. anyway, leaving the IAT dangling but connected will not throw a MIL, only if you disconnect it. the IAT is one the sensors the ECU uses to adjust timing advance and fuel trim. so if the temp the IAT is giving the ECU is different than the air entering the intake, you will be hurting your performance. if the pipe does not have a hole, drill one and stick the IAT in there. it should have a rubber grommet. if not, you can use anything that fits and holds it in the pipe. if you don't feel like going through that trouble, you can fasten the sensor to the outside of the filter so the air moves past it.... some people pull the filter off, throw the sensor in the pipe and put the filter back on. It works but i would not advise this as it will crimp the wires and overtime the vibration would eventually cut the wires. Note: "You" and "You're" is general and directed to no one specific.
