i am not sure how, but i never had any problems with my injen intake and it just dangled in the engine bay. my speedo was correct too, because the cop clocked me at 77 in a 60 and that is exactly what my speedo said.

Nice... lol... My spedo works fine too. You feel the power kick in and the spedo heads north. Just seems to work. Any Idea on what that mounting bracket in the picture is... mine came with one but I have no idea what its for....

Just so people don't think I'm nuts:

One of the first replies to this question included a picture of one of the presidential candidates with a very negative caption. That is what I was responding to. Our moderator must have deleted the post along with another one which included an inappropriate put down of the person asking for info about the effects of a new intake on his MAF.

Is this early april fools or some shit?

if you do not know what the fuck you are talking about don't post with misinformation because you will just make shit worse. this isn't a little deal, i cannot believe so many people believe that the little sensor with a post that goes into your intake is a Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) think about it, how is a sensor in the intake going to tell you how fast your vehicle is going? that sensor in question is an Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor. It needs to be there or you will throw a MIL. Do not just let it dangle, if there is no hole in the tube to put it drill one. Otherwise fasten it to the filter so it can read the incoming air temp

the VSS is in the transmission, or if you have a 2.0 and ABS, there is no VSS. the ECU gets your speed from the ABS sensors

i am sorry if i was originally misinformed. i didn't intentionally misinform anyone here, i was just telling everyone what i was told, but;

1. you didn't need to be such a cocksucker about it. you could have just pointed it out instead of basically just telling me that i am stupid. you can e-thug all that you want, but it doesn't fly well with me.

2. my old protege had an injen CAI that had no place for the IAT and i left it dangling. i know a lot of people that leave it dangling. i never had any problems in the 40k miles that i put on the intake and never had a CEL.

3. i am not stupid, only slightly misinformed. i got my information from a supposedly reliable source and it was wrong. fucking sue me.
