Hi, Im a newbie here. I just got a 1998 Millenia. I put a new tranny in it and I love the car... it runs great. My question is that my temp gauge is running exactly in the middle between H and C and sometimes, it runs slightly higher than the middle... Is this normal for this vehicle? In any of my other cars I wouldn't think it was normal, but i wanted to ask before I dug any deeper... Thanks!

If it runs near the middle, and not reaching up into the higher levels, I'd say you're ok. I used to have a 2006 Chevy Impala SS, and it would always run right near the middle of the gauge, as it does on my new 2008 Mazdaspeed 3. If it goes any higher (as in reaching the "H" on the gauge), then worry, because the new transmission may be putting too much strain on the engine.

I've been keeping an eye on it and it only seems that the temp guage raises up to and slightly above normal when the AC or Heater is on. Also, when I rev the engine it'll knock the temp down...so, i am thinking that it is the thermostat... As soon as I get some free time I'll change it and see what happens... thanks for the reply...
