I installed my CAI today but it seems like the filter is in a odd place...or at least to me it is...is the filter supposed to be behind the left drivers side headlight just a bit bellow it and if so then how the hell is air  being passed through that tight spot; i will post some pics soon...i don't think i gained much power either....on my altima there was a day and night diff when i had a CAI on it.

my filter sits below the headlight in front of the vents on the wheel well but i feel that the vents are too little .....i baught some cheapo intake that a buddy told me about on ebay for like 80$....prob gives another reason why im not satisfied....but i changed the cone filter on it i didn't put that garbage filter that it came with i have a steel mesh dry filter from pepboys.

2.0!?!?!?  I thought I taught you better than to buy too much from eBay???

Here's what it's supposed to look like... the AEM and Mazdaspeed at least. I'm sure the Injens and Fujitus are similar.

Notice where the filter is in relation to the horn(s.)  That's the factory horn on the upper left.

Yeah, even I've looked at them and thought to myself, "could I save some bucks here and just buy one of these things?" And I SHOULD know better!!  I've been ripped off a few times on eBay too, and I've gotten some good deals too.  It all levels out if you're smart about it.
I understand and I feel your pain, Bro.
