I am thinking of buying a second hand 2005/2006 Mazda 5. The Sport seems to be out of the question because of the tyre wear, am I right in thinking that the TS2 does not wear tyres in the same way. Anyone out there with a TS2 please let me know your experiences before I waste any money! Cheers!!

Hi, and welcome. I'm a "Sport" sufferer, but I've been on this forum for over a year now, and I think there have been virtually no cases of TS2's suffering our tyre wear problem. In fact, and I've got my fingers crossed as I type this (which makes typing quite difficult), it's possible that the tyre problem on the Sport may well be sorted. Certainly if you read my last few posts, I'm getting completely normal wear on my replacement front tyres (Bridgestones), which have now done 15,000 miles and look fine, unlike the original Dunlops which were worn at 10K and wrecked at 12.5K But anyway, to answer your question, I think you should be OK with a TS2, any TS2 owners out there want to add anything? Dave.

We've just reached 8,000 miles on our TS2 with no problems at all.

Hi , I have had my 2007 sport for 9 months now. I have had no tyre wear issue at all, no suspension issues, no funny noises, no clutch issues, in fact I have nothing wrong with it at all. I really like my car, it big and safe and practical, and you don't see many around. I seem to have been lucky as every one else seems to have problems ????

Hi Ad4m , how many miles have your's Mazda 5? Have you reached the 12,500 miles barrier ? Since this is the mileage that is usual to starting notice tyre wear issues.

Not yet, only done about 8.5K but the tyres still seem as good as new. I just wish the mazda5 came with a turbo version otherwise all O.k
