if you buy a pre made exhaust like the brands you mentioned its a bolt on and you don't need a welder depending on the system, so yes if you are a bit mechincally inclined you can do it....just don't do it after you have driven the car. do it in the morning.

well i installed my intake and my eibach prokit so i guess the next challenge is exhaust and header!

i just installed my CAI as well i will be doing exhaust next but can you post a pic of your intake set up by any chance i am trying to get an idea if i did anything wrong on my intake installation.

i installed a SRIinstead of CAI therefore taking away the whole bumper removal hassle, but i do have pics-

both before my heat shield i installed to keep some extra heat away!!

and my car stock still on the lot:

nicely done. easy install...mine was a bich. but why do you have a red fliter over there what is that for...bypass?

yes, the intake was basically custom built and i didnt feel like welding a piece in order to connect that tube,so i replaced it with the filter which works just as well.

I installed my Vibrant in 1-1/2 hrs, and that includes time to find hardware not included and "up and down" time for the car.

It's just a breather. In stock configuration (as you know) the tube is connected to the intake and uses the vacuum to suck out gasses that form in the engine block. now, no vacuum and it's all left up to the pressure in the engine block to expel the gasses. I would think that if anything (however small) it would be a decrease in performance, though I'm quite sure not detectable.
Stick w/the intake hose if you can.

yea i would have liked to use the hose but i too got a POS off ebay so i had to improvise. im thinking about getting rid of it and getting a legit CAI just because the raw statistics that prove that CAI is better than SRI, although after installation the new sound was awesome and i did feel a difference in my low end torque around 35000 RPM, im just scared that if i go to cold air that my power may decrease? but im wondering what works better with what. CAI with exhaust sounds healthier than SR with exhaustjust because colder are is being ingested and heated up along the way opposed to already hot air getting even hotter along the way..i dont know. im still debating. may just get exhaust and see how things go from there see if i wanna switch after that. HMm
