Pinkers -> Importing a Lantis/323 to the USA (2/11/2008 2:53:45 PM)

Hello all newbie here :)

I am considering movingto the USA for work and would like to bring my car with me. I understand the car must meet emission and bumper standards, and I'm wondering if any modification is likely to be needed. The car is a hatchback 1995 Lantis Type R (known as the 323 in the UK) that was previously imported to the UK from Japan. (I live in the UK)

Has anyone here imported a Lantis from Japan? Any advice would be much appreciated :)

Thanks

I'm not gonna be much help but i've never heard of a lantis. But you might have to go through customs or something i'm not quite sure how it works sorry :(

Thanks for the reply Renesis. Yes, you do have to go through customs, I've got plenty of info on the regulations the car must meet, I'm just looking for someone with personal experience to give me an idea of costs etc.

The Lantis is known as the 323 in the UK and the Familia/Protege around the world, and looks like this: (this one's not mine)

Lantis Type R
