My bose cd player and radio in my 2001 Millenia S quit working. I am wondering if this bose unit out of a 2002 protege would work. Almost all of the numbers match. the number in the screen on mine is 1164 and its number is 1166 Just wondering how much that mattered. If any one has one please let me know or give your thoughts and knowledge on this because i haven't had a radio for almost a year its driving me crazy.
Thank You So Much

I think the audio unit out of the 02 protege might just work ok. The connector looks identical and the wire pin locations all match down to each wire out to the speakers. The protege does not have the capability for audio control on the steering wheel as that wire is missing as well as the power up for the subwoofer relay. Wires may be missing from the protege harness but the audio unit may still have the outputs but are just not used. There are no cross reference #'s available so it will be a guess that it should work. What is wrong with the existing audio unit? Does it turn on but just not have any output or what?

It dont turn on but the lights on the knobs light up. It started out just the cd player would not work. After that the tape player stopped. Then shortly after the radio and everything shut off but the lights stayed on constanly. So if the protege does work i would lose steering wheel controls and the sub? The Steering wheel controls does not bother me but The sub might. I dont know i think i just might buy it then see what works.

Thanks for your help

Just replaced a 6 disc in dash changer on a 2003 Protege 5 with #1165 on face. It had a wire in same place as yours for subwoofer relay but it had a spare tire sub in the back. If an 02 comes in with #1166 I will see if it has a signal output for the relay. Might even have one up in used car lot.

Thank you you're the best. And if this dont work out how would it be to put in an aftermarket tv? Could i just set down and figure out the wiring or do i need to replace all the speakers. Thanks again.

Is the tv designed to be installed so that it runs off of your car speakers? Still have not seen a 1166 radio but would be willing to bet it will work fine. If there is not an amp relay turn on signal you could always splice into the key on signal to the radio. The sub would be on even when radio was not but should not cause a problem.
If you need the wire colors out of the back of the audio unit and where they all go to I could either fax you the diagram or post. Not that many.
