05 V6 Mustang 0-60 is 6.9 sec, 0.79g on skidpad (5.2 seconds for the Base V8, 0.87g on skidpad)

2.3L Mazda3 is 7.4 seconds & pulls 0.86 on the skidpad.

If you caught the V6 guy asleep at the light, you'd take him.

Even with a Speed3 and corners, I don't think you'd take a new Mustang GT...here's a video of a stock Mustang GT vs a Lotus Exige S around the Top Gear track and the Mustang did surprisingly well. (Had they put the GT500 in the same test I don't think the Lotus would have won....but I don't think they wanted the Yankee car to beat the Brit.)

I was thinking the same things, sst - a V6 'Stang isn't quite a beast, but any decent driver wouldn't lose to a 3 off the line.

Oh, and you're right about the Lotus vs. the Mustang GT, except for the fact that the GT500 would still lose - if I remember correctly, it still has the same live rear axle set up as the ordinary Mustang, and it's only 500BHP, not WHP. From what I've read from dynos, only about 455 gets to the wheels.

But if it was the Roush Mustang (which would only be fair, since that's in the Exige's price range!), there would be question - the Roush version is everything a Mustang SHOULD be.

lots of Q's.... 17's w/ 225/45 falken tires, tein S-tech's, custom intake w/k&n filter and some exterior and interior mods... not very much like i said "minor" its not all about the car in auto-x its more about the driver ask anyone who does it regularly
"drag racing is for fast cars Auto X is for fast drivers"
most of my street wins are on curvy highways as i live in the mountains and there is no such thing as a strait road here

i find your wins hard to beleive. even with the  mods you basically turned ur car into a m3 with the 2.3, ur still probably down like 10lbs of torque
