and i totally agree with you richard on the personality of rock music. thats why i tend to avoid it and indulge in other forms of music. not all musicians are self-centered/absorbed people. all of the bands that i play shows with, including my band, are some of the most giving and supportive people i have met.

I hear you on the ego comment...that''s why my appreciation is of the music, not the musicians. The last thing rock musicians need is more fuel for their ego flames.

so we got a fight about music between a metallica fan and a slayer fan. consider this. they are both in guitar hero III lol. everyone has their different opinions about music and i for one am the same. although if it sounds good i listen to it. i can listen to rock rap techno anything. currently welcome home- coheed and cambria. amazing song!

I considered it more a difference of opinion... a debate rather than a flame war.

And what does Guitar Hero have to do with this. They pay for the rights to use a song. So, they were able to get the rights to "their" songs. So what? (<<< Flame war!!

I HATE that song. Between the hype surrounding it when it came out (speaking of Rock''s inherent hype,) and the fact that radio played it over and over, and over, and over.... I could live out the rest of my life not hearing that one again and not miss it at all.

i wasnt fighting with anyone...just sharing my opinion and absorbing others.

i got asked to fill in for a band called Diseased Princess for a a show on tuesday at the meat locker in nj. i got acouple days to learn the songs...im gonna give it a shot. ill also be playing with my band, hooray!failure, at the show. good times ahead.
