i wouldnt go as far to call me a metal fan. i enjoi a number of bands who could be considered metal, but there is too much ego and machoism in metal for me.

why listen to metallica when you can listen to slayer?!?!

slayer is not just noise...

i just spent two years at school studying the differences between noise and music...
slayer is not noise.

metallica is formulaic b.s. with machismo pop mentality, a horrible drummer, and a g.o.d.awful drummer.

look/listen to how pathetic nickelback is...
the link is a layering of their two songs, "how you remind me" and "someday"...same exact song structure, same key, same tempo, different lyrics...same exact song...lazy bastards.

A lot of people don''t like Lars. I don''t hold any special sentiment for the guy either...musical aptitude aside, he''s a schmuck.

Let''s not even bring Nickelback into this...we all know Chad and Nick Kroeger have been recycling music for years. And random chord progressions and notes do not a solo make.

I have to agree with you there, Lupae. But then again, any form of music, especially any form of Rock music has a certain amount of hype and attitude involved. Sometimes it''s taken too far. Being self centered/self absorbed is almost a necessity as a musician, or any kind of artist for that matter.

I like some of Lars patterns and generally have found that they compliment the music the band was making. And I like some of Metallicas'' music too. Some of it is very approachable... mainstream if you wish, but listenable. All that said, Lars is a self-righteous A hole for sure.
