Well, you would never have to buy another air filter ever again. You would have to purchase the cleaning kit also (comes with filter cleaner & oil to re-oil the filter). I have been running one on my 05' 6S for more than 30k & I am very pleased with it.

Purchased mine through Canadian Tire. No complaints from me but others say it  breathes better therefore letting more dirt through I don't agree but thats just my opinion. You can also get prefilters but I dunno about the 6's on that I have never looked into it.

K&N makes a good product, but the only "good thing" you will see is that you can clean it instead of replacing the filter so it will cost less in the long run. If you are looking for power gains with this filter then you should try doing the airbox mod otherwise there will be no gains in HP regardless of what K&N will try and tell you.

You basically gut the extranious parts out of the airbox, and remove the resonator. This gives a nice deep growling intake note at increased rpm and has the potential to increase hp a bit. It won't be by a lot, but you are reducing restrictions in airflow so it should increase it some. Also, it's a free mod so any free hp is good hp in my book.  http://www.dreamhaven.org/%7Edata/m6airboxmod/ there are the instructions for the mod, well most of them, I don't think he removed the resonator in those, but that's a relatively easy thing to do. Simply remove the front bumper and then undo the bolts holding the resonator on. Good luck, let us know how it goes!
