HI, My wifes 97 mpv with the 3.0 has been having an oil leal issue for the past 6months. I have narrowed it down to somewhere on the back right side of the engine, around the housing that the PVC valve goes into. I have replaced both vavle cover gaskets. Also have removed the intake assembly again to get another look......but i cant quit get a good look at that part of the motor. Does anybody have any experiance with this problem. The vehicle has around 180,000 miles. Other than it leaking down onto the exhaust manifold and smoking....i wouldnt even bother with it. Not dropping much on the oil level.

After many attempts by the dealer to find the leak, a local mechanic found my 97 Mpv valve cover had a hair line crack. It was hard to find because it would only leak when the car was moving and it was a slow leak. It turned out to be the passenger side, back, right, lower corner of the valve cover. He replaced the valve cover and we haven't had any problems since. It could also just be the valve cover gaskets. What a mess it caused.
