First off, it's a 1990 LX TS w/ATX 191Kmi.  Today stopped into the Walgreen's for a few things, got back out to the car and it wouldn't start. First thought was oh crap, ignition module went bad again, then I noticed that the tach was moving, so that ruled that out. After holding the pedal to the floor I got it to start right up, but my CE was lit and next thing I knew smoke was coming from the defroster vents and around the column. It's an electrical burning smell, man I hate that smell. I got about half a block, and it stalled again, this time wouldn't start at all. Also, I just happened to notice that my econo light wasn't lit, which along with the buring makes me think that my cluster shorted out. I pulled it out, no signs of anything burnt on it, what could it be? Also, my hold light has never worked since I got the car yet the hold function does. P.s. I tried to pull codes, but it acts like the jumper wire isn't even connected.

The Scan tool may be having trouble responding with the pcm.  Check the pcm for ur burning smell. If this is it sell the car unless u have an extra $1500 laying around.
