Hi. My 1993 RX7 airbag light blinks 6 times in a row then a pause and then starts 6 blinks and keeps repeating the cycle.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Per the workshop manual, there is either a damaged driver-side air bag module or poor connection of the clock spring connector.

For a person not very good in mechanics what do you suggest? How can I be sure which one is the problem? Airbag module...is that like the computer that controls the unit or the actual airbag that's on the steering.

Thanks!

The airbag module is the actual airbag itself (center of the steering wheel.)

Not sure if you want to mess with that yourself.  That's a pretty old airbag.  Make sure you disconnect the battery if you do, and don't stand in front of the airbag when you're working on it, always sit the airbag module with the back face (surface that mates to the inner steering wheel) to the ground so that if it inadvertantly deploys, it doesn't become a projectile (bag pushing into ground and launching it)

The clockspring connector is the actual connector behind the airbag that runs the voltage up the column and into the airbag module.
