I just put a motor in my 94 mazda mx6, I put a 2.0 liter in it and change out all the gaskets, the first time I put the motor in, the rear main seal went on it and it spilled out oil all over the ground. I found that really strange, also I found it strange that the seal was swisted up around the crank. I pulled that seal out replace the seal with OEM and replace the plate that goes around the seal. I followed torgue and put sealent on the plate like i suppose to have. Now it is leaking again, but not bad it only leaves a drop of small oil in the driveway. I have change out rear main seals on many cars and found this car to be very puzzleing with its oil leak. Can anyone help? Is this a problem that mazda's have? And do anyone know of any recalls about this issue?
