Wow what a great car to drive. Received our first yesterday and I took for a 40 mile drive thru some straight and winding roads out in the country. Acceleration far surpasses the Protege speed. If you get a chance, give one a drive. The AWD should be great for wintery drives as well. Sold that night so no more fun drives at least untill we get another. The smart keyless entry kind of neat too. Owner brought back this afternoon to have the walkaway locking function activated.

Personally I hate it's looks (and that goes as well for all the 2006 6's - they managed to turn a piece of art into sight for sore eyes !) Our 2003-2005 Mazda 6's are the best looking car's out there (the GT Canadian versions with the GFX package - the sculptured bumpers - in the U.S. I'm not sure if it's S or i ??)

Makes me wonder if the engine will be buzzing like a razor ? And those mag wheels , man ! They suck ! Ours look like a Porshe 911 derivitive at least !

And now for the butt ugly Speed 6 (I find all their 6's are going the wrong way esthetic-wise)
Here are some pics of the Speed 6, that I took at the dealer on the day I bought my sweet 6 GT

What is mazda thinking? Someone finally puts out a car that looks hardcore but doesn't have a hardcore price on it and now they decide to make it uglier?!?! What the hell, the speed6 is definatly a step backwards. If they had any idea of marketing prowess they'd take a prius engine and stuff it into a 2005 mazda6. Imagine that, a hybrid car that didn't look like you were driving around in something that a larger truck shat out. Mazda could own all other companies if they'd just keep the 2005 6s looks, throw in a hybrid option engine, then for the "speed6" put a damn V8 in it!!! Screw a freaking torqued out 4 banger, like that POS engine is going to last, you throw down a V8 and you can play a CD with a turbo noise on repeat if you want to feel like a rice cake from time to time, while still spanking the snot out of the laundry line of honda accords. I should work for Mazda's marketing division, cause crap like the speed6 would have been axed the second it flew by my desk.

D to the B

i completely agree with you guys.... the interior and the exterior are both screwed to hell. we got the good lookin models. those cars are not even appealing to our eyes for the 06 models. i really would like to know what these creators were thinking. and yes, that 4 banger will blow up because it is just turboed so people are gonna drive around like they are the shit because of a turbo and a semi-decent engine.... a v8 stock would be real nice to have.
