starting a few days ago, i noticed there is this rattling metal sound accompanying my car at highway speed… (along with wind) like “flapping a small sheet of metal” and sounds like it’s coming from underneath the cup holders in the middle, or under the shifter... but I am not really sure... I am going to take my car in and get it checked out of course… but just wondering if anyone have experienced something similar?

Loose exhaust heat shield possibly?

You can remove the cupholder panel fairly easily. Pull straight up on it and it should pop out. See if the rattle is still there with the cupholder panel removed.

Tendao. Did you figure out that rattle? Mine just started, 2006 GT-V6, 9000 miles. It is intermittent, usually when it is cold, at 55 -65 mph, a metallic rattling/vibrating noise. I thought for sure it was a heat shield on the exhaust. Curious to find out the root cause.
