I'm new to this Forum...but know the rules about searching through past post before submitting new questions. I'm an avid motorcycle rider and get alot of good info from the bike forums I belong to. Here's my question(s)......I'm going to be installing a Kicker 400.1 and a Kicker 10' L7 into my 2007 3 and need to know what size wires, fuses, and adapter to purchase. I've seen some pretty impressive step by step photo instructions on how to disassemble the interior dash...just not for the 3. If anyone has these instructions could you please post a reply. I have the Bose system which sounds decent...just not enough bass for me. Any other helpful hints would be great.....Im going to attempt this myself. Im tired of wasting $$$ on install fees. I have a friend that does install if I get in over my head to bail me out of trouble if needed..... Wish me luck!

well if you want to keep your deck stock you can do that. there is an RC adaptor that you can wire your subs and amp to your speakers and from there it will go to the stock deck. go to future shop to ask them about taht if your interested. as for taking the deck out i have no clue

Welcome to the forums, tebfire!
Usually, I admit to nothing... just ask the other junkie's on here, except shameless self-promotion.        But in this case I have to admit that I know very little about the stereo system, or automotive subwoofers.  However, I do have some education in electronics and electricity and it seems that you'd want to size the wire and fuses for the power the speaker can handle since that is what you'd be trying to protect from overpowering... especially if running an amp that has much higher capabilities.
Also keep in mind that mismatching speaker/amp resistance (i.e. a 2 ohm subwoofer and a 4 ohm amp output) will greatly affect those figures and may require matching circuitry or at least additional resistors..
