RE: Bird droppings - 11/13/2007 1:23:54 PM    rolomac Posts: 119 Joined: 7/17/2005 Status: offline ok - but serously - car covers - I used one for a while on an expensively restored show car and didn't care for it.  If the car is absolutely clean - no dust or grit of any kind and the cover is absolutely clean then ok, but I found that the cover has to slide over the finish and in the process edges come into contact with the ground and before long the grit begins to slide between the finish and the cover as you are putting it on and taking it off.  It can't be good for the finish.  That was a while back and maybe car covers have improved somehow and don't have that problem, but I wouldn't do it.  Or - - - The owl idea gave me another thought though.  My wife uses CDs and DVDs to keep critters out of her garden.  You know - like the ones AOL sends you.  Don't throw them away - drill a hole in the edge and suspend them with fishing line from tree branches or whatever so they are free to move with the breeze.  They reflect light in a strange way and honestly repel deer and raccoons from our garden and I've been told they work on birds too.  I know a fellow who uses them to keep birds from roosting on his sailboat when it's docked.  Or - - - A friend tells me that his .410 shotgun doesn't make as much noise as a .12 gauge - - - Rolomac (in reply to 08 Max) Post #: 14
