How can I reduce the speed limiter so that the car dosent go so fast the car is for my little sis so we wanna slow it down a bit.

Um don't give her the RX-8. Get her a honda. Your username is 94Honda - give her your 94 honda and you drive the RX-8.

Probably should not have gotten her the car if it is too fast. More research should have been done before the car was purchased.

Haha yeah i should give her my car but its hers. does anyone know if you can change the speed limiter with some kind of power programmer?

I have never heard of ANYONE wanting to LOWER the Rev limiter.. im pretty sure the only way to NOT drive too fast is to not be a dumbshit.. tell lil sis to keep her foot off the gas and to go the speed limit...tell her to stay off her cell phone too

Make sure she sees the high school driver's ed favorite BLOOD ON THE HIGHWAY

You could even take her to a Skip Barber racing school so she'll know how to handle a fast car safely.

Give her an automatic, trust me it may be a little fast now, but in a few months of stop and go driving and it starts to loose it's compression, school busses will be honking their horns to pass her.

and to the original poster, just dont drive as fast.
my mazda3 has a top speed of 188km's an hour.
just cuz its there, doesnt mean i have to drive that fast all the time

I would be lessed worried about reducing the top speed, as most people, especially females, will never see their top speed. When giving your little sis an Rx-8 however, you're giving her a rwd sports car. This means with a lot of gas, the tires either spin, or the car accelerates quickly, reducing available response time. So just tell her not to give it a lot of gas, and it'll be the same as your 94 honda.  2nd thing to worry about is the blindspots.  Tell her to be very careful switching lanes and backing up.
