For those wo have the Sport AT in your 3, I have a question: According to the shop manual and other material on mazdausa.com,
the Sport AT has a downhill logic, which says, when you are driving downhill at certain speed, apply brake, then the Sport AT would kick down to 2nd gear for engine brake. I am wondering about this a lot, and trying to create a senario for this to happen, but no avail so far. Just don't know how fast the speed has to be, and how hard you have to brake for this to kick in automatically.
Anybody out here have any experience of this? Speak up please if you do. I'd love to hear your story.

I have the sport AT, and have never noticed anything like this when going down hill.

The tranny does shift down if you brake and slow down a lot, but I have never felt a braking affect.
