Does anyone know if you can replace the stock wheel of a 1997 Protege LX? I have a chance to get the wheel cheap, and it has a universal hub, but some of the opinions I've gotten say that it won't work with my car. Has anyone else had a problem with it?

You'll have to take in consideration what you are going to do with your horn and cruise controls. Then the hub might be a problem with the wiper, directional, and headlight switches. Probably why the other guy is bailing out of it cheap...

No, he originally got the wheel (with horn buttons) for his BMW, but he had to sell the car & the wheel doesn't look right with his Ford Focus. It's a moot point now since JC Whitney took them back, but I still need to change the wheel since it looks like someone took a bite out of it. The cruise control didn't look like an issue, though you're right about the lights, wipers, etc. Any suggestions?
