ORIGINAL: VB I drove a manual for the first time in person tonight (lots of racing on a simulator, GTR2 for the PC), a highly modified EVO IX with a picky clutch. Stalled 2 or 3 times, the gripping point is so fine on it. I think he''''s losing some drivability in the city, but it responds so well when you want to move in a hurry (and I did...holy christ I smiled like an idiot and giggled for 5 minutes..360WHP!). Got used to it quickly though, and I will never buy another automatic as long as I can help it. You say that, and when you have open road in front of you, the stick is cool. But in real life, how often does that occur? If your regularly in traffic, with little chance to wind the engine up, and you have to clutch 25 times in ten miles, you''ll love an auto. The sport shift starts to look like a voluptuous woman in the distance ...everything you want, when your ready to punch the gas ... she lets you want what you want, without a whole lot of left leg work.
