I didn't realize at the time when giving an update here on friday's posting, but guy running code check at Advanced Auto must have cleared codes as check engine light was off when I left there and remained that way until saturday.
Returned to Advanced Auto today to re-run OBD and now both codes are showing up...the P1345 and the freakin' P0402 EGR Flow Excessive code has returned. When we removed the EGR Valve to clean and replace gasket, we did not check the little valve inside to see if it was moving freely or perhaps sticking - so guess we need to remove EGR Valve again and specifically check this.
Any suggestions on the return of P1345 code? Thank you!

My car is also exhibiting the no start when engine is hot and turned off syndrome. The code is also P1345 which is a misfire code. Check engine light will go off if condition is not repeated the next couple of start ups. I have changed the spark plugs and the ignition wires. Don't know if this will fix the problem. I have a 2000 Miata with 40,000 miles. Let me know what you find to be the cause. Thanks and good luckk.

the p0402 code is usually a clogged vacuum port that those vacuum lines are hooked onto the (surge tank) intake manifold. usually a drill bit in to the metal nipple on the intake will unclog it. plus the egr port directly behind the throttle body (you have to remove it) will also clog with corbon.
the other code is a Camshaft position (CMP) sensor circuit malfunction. this can be caused by an unconnected crank or cam pos. sensor anytime while cranking. or it could be a failing crank sensor. did you recently have the timing belt done? they could have damaged the sensor, wires, or crank trigger wheel.
the starting issue and misfires are almost always a coil issue. the ignitoin module is not on t coil though. it is pcm controlled & not a separate unit or anything. i would replace the ignition coil. i've seen bad wires & plugs cause the ign coil to fail.
