I'm looking to install some interior lights under the dash, so they shine on the floor (for when I possibly get the diamond plate floor mats from thermpstore.com). Anyway, my plan is to splice them into an existing power line. I was planning to go for one of the electrical outlets. That said, I have three questions -Should I make them parallel or series? -where can you get good (but low profile) after market switches? -and is there a better power line to attach it to then the power outlets on the dash?

You can splice the wires to a source you find comfortable with you. You can wire them to your parking lights, so they light up when you turn your lights on, or any power source on the car. IMO, I would wire them to a power source and use a low profile toggle to turn them on and off.. That way if I get tired of em, I could just shut em off.
