Hi,

Is anybody aware whent the first 2008 CX-7s are available in States? I asked my local dealer, but he did not know answer to this question... I am looking forward to buy CX-7, but still thinking, if I should wait a month or two. According to dealer no changes except no premium fuel required anymore, have you heard of any other changes?

I don't understand why everyone freaks out over $.2 more a gallon over regular, not even mid-grade.  If you fill up 10 gals, it's only $2.  Do that once a week and you're at $104.  Don't buy a Starbucks once a week and you have the premium fuel paid for.  Heck, every morning I spend at least $2 on soda for the day AND put premium in both vehicles that recommend or require it.  Even if Mazda stopped "requiring" and only "recommended" I still would not do that to my vehicle.  It's just simply not worth the reduction in performance, gas mileage and potential hazzard.[:'(]

So if 2008 model doesn't require premium gas, did they change the engine design (not likely) or just the computer? If they changed the computer program, then couldn't they apply that to a 2007 model as they would be the same engine?

I know that in my Laser AWD I have to run premium to keep the knock counts down.  The one thing that will KILL a turbocharged engine in a quick hurry is KNOCK and that is caused by poor fuel or lack of it.  It is worth it in the long run to run the premium fuel.
