I got this nice Mazda 3 04 Sport model with auto trans. I been having it for about 7 months now. I noticed that it takes about 5 seconds or so to get it going from stop to go. I posted another forum here http://mazdaforum.com/m_4465/tm.htm and I got my answer as to what is causing this delay in acceleration. Does anybody know how to change this "stall" effect so I can get it going faster from a dead start? Thanks

I do not know if the engine computers can be reprogrammed like GM and Ford vehicles using a Hypertech reprogrammer, if it is offered for these cars. I'm sure there are other companies out there similar to Hypertech. This is the one I am most familiar with. You are able to program different parameters of drivabilty including engine performance, shift points, compensate for different size tires, eliminate fuel cut off, etc... Just plug into diagnostic port inside car and follow instructions on screen. Usually runs about $375 and up.
