im glad you posted this, the tip looks real nice - ive been wanting to swap mine out aswell... my only question is how did they attach it? i know it was welded...but every tip i look at thats 3.5 says it has an inlet of more than the 2 inches of the stock 3 exhaust.

The inlet is 2.25" and I measured the stock pipe at a hair over 2 1/8" at the tip so it's almost a dead on fit. The very end of the stainless tip's 2.25" inlet is also tapered in some so it's slightly smaller than 2.25", it fit almost perfectly. You can get a 3.5" or a 4" tip, I chose the 3.5" tip... the tip you installed looks nice and aggresive. im aware you did not make any adjustments to the stock exhaust piping, but did the alernate exhaust tip modify the sound of the car at all?

ORIGINAL: Lupae3s the tip you installed looks nice and aggresive. im aware you did not make any adjustments to the stock exhaust piping, but did the alernate exhaust tip modify the sound of the car at all? No, no sound change at all. If you look at the tip, it's really 2.25" most of the way, then it's beveled out to 3.5". So, it's really not any bigger for the sound waves to bounce around in and make more sound. That how it's a double walled tip. From looking at it when I got it, it's a 2.25" piece of pipe, they bevel it our at the end to make it 3.5", then fold it over back towards the inlet section. When you look at it from it's back or the inlet pipe, there's actually an open space between the inner pipe and the outer pipe. This spacing will allow the outer part of the tip not to turn yellow as stainless does when it gets' hot because it's not in direct contact with the exhaust gasses so it won't heat up and turn yellow. Also, you can't see the open space once it's installed because the tip is under the bumper, you only see the tip sticking out. The only way to see it would be to crawl under the car and then you could see it. Hope all this makes sense, if not, I'll shoot a pic so you can see what I'm talking about. Don't worry, it's a nice tip! Jim
