Hey, i'm new to this forum. i'm planning to sell my car soon, so I'm looking to get a Mazda6i. Are there known problems with the 6 like there are with the 6gen Accords (v6 has transmission and alternator problems) Does anyone know how much they go for? Invoice price, not MSRP? And the diff between 2003 and 04 and 05 if I just want the lowest trim level w/ sunroof? I'm thinking about buying a used 03 or 04 because I only have 12-14 G's. What time of the year is it the cheapest to buy off of dealerships? Is it when new models come in?? thanks for all your help, i appreciate it.

You can ask every dealer the invoice price. Well, In my state it is the law to show it.

If you have 12-14grand you should just get the S model. IT is better and much quicker.

I have an 04 6i without the sunroof and I got mine for under $15k. It had 16,000 miles on it. In Consumer Reports, the 6i has proven to be the most reliable out of the 4cylinder and v-6. Stick with the 4 cylinder. It's better on gas, and is peppy enough. Don't waste your money buying the S model unless you want the V-6. You're spending money on the wing, body kit, bigger wheels, etc...and do you really need it when the car rated less reliable than the 4cylinder? That's just my $.02. I'd rather buy the base (which I did), and put the kit on it that I want, etc. (And for cheaper than factory!)
