Make sure you do a real good job cleaning and prepping the calipers, otherwise the paint will peel off. I'd recommend that you do the job wearing medical type gloves to avoid skin oil contamination.

ORIGINAL: sstlaure Make sure you do a real good job cleaning and prepping the calipers, otherwise the paint will peel off. I'd recommend that you do the job wearing medical type gloves to avoid skin oil contamination. VERY good suggestion indeed. Also, the paint drys VERY quickly, but can be cut with med-dry laquer thinner, which helps. Plan on making a day of it, allowing for time (20mins or so) in between to dry and recoat. I wish someone had suggested that to me when I first did mine. Plan on putting on several additional coats over the next several months. It will chip @ first, but gets stronger w/additional coats and time. As for your original question: PLEASE don't do red. Red calipers are SO overdone. W/Sunlight you have a number of choices that, imo would look good. I did the blue w/aluminum silver Mazda decals on my Rally White and am very happy how they turned out. Yellow would also work. Black? Orange? Red, of course. Silver is a basically a neutral color, like white, so your choices are wide and varied.

ORIGINAL: MikeMzda3 both good ideas - and just to show you the product... http://www.tirerack.com/brakes/g2/caliper_paint.jsp $38.00!!! Mike, Mike, Mike! Go to your local parts store and buy a Dupli-Color kit for half that ($16.95.) You'll get a nice job and have plenty left over for touch-ups. One other suggestion though, buy some additional cheapy desposable paint brushes... another $3-5.00.
