just wondering how many miles people are gettting on a full tank. With my 2.3 liter I4 Automatic Mazda 6 I am getting 450 miles on a full tank (18 gal. tank). I have 5000 miles on the car. I drive mostly in the city, but about 30% of my driving is on the highway. My parents have a 04 6 with the same size engine and they only get about 400 mpg or less on a full tank. Is my 450 miles on a full tank good? I take it pretty easy on the throttle, but I still floor it once or twice a day. Does anyone want to know my secrets? No mods have been done to my car at all!

i wanna hear your secrets haha..... i get around 375-400 on a full tank right now till my engine is completely broken in. its only at 2200miles on mine. I'm gonna get better gas mileage fairly soon when an CAI comes out and a Borla Exhaust.

so, you want to know my secrets.hehe. That will be $29.95. ..... Will that me cash or visa. Just kidding. I have KanN air filter(not the kit) and use 87 octane and have 5w-20 AMS oil. In my experience in racing and with my mazda truck before, this is by far the best oil on the market.

With the same vehicle, 2.3 w/ auto, (that just turned 20,000 miles), I'm getting between 500 - 540 miles per gallon. Keep in mind, most of my driving is highway miles at about 45 miles each way to work. I use 87 octane and have gotten up to 30.2 mpg. Usually it is between 28 - 30 mpg.

I've been pleasantly surprised. I also use cruise control and the automatic shifter when I can.

You all are lucky to be seeing that kind of millage, I have the 3L V6 and I'm getting about 21mpg when I hammer on it, and about 24 if I'm nice for a tank. Average I can pull off about 420miles to an 18 gallon tank, but with the prices like they are that's a solid $45 for a fill up. I even use full syntec oil and I'm still seeing low #'s for the mpg.

Wow yeah you guys are getting good milege. I get about 400-415 a tank and that is if I am very very nice on the throttle. Which is rare ( I have a heavy foot ). I beat the shit out of my car I am surprised it hasn't had any major problems yet. I have a question for all you guys. I know on an an average that most people are supposed to put on between 12,000-15,000 miles on your car per year. Hmm...well I bought my car in march this year with 20,750 and well now its just about October and it is at 37,500. Anyone think thats insane! God does anyone else drive that much. My poor car is gonna be shot to shit before I pay it off! Not good.
