1998 MPV 4x4, 128K miles and NO tow package. 1) rear air lines damaged by hot exhast pipe, dealer did a bad/temporary repair. 2) had exhaust repaired, but not air line, shocks were not inflating due to leaky rear air line under gas tank. Compressor was constantly running. 3) Now, compressor is not running at all, back end sits very low. 30A fuse under hood keeps blowing out, assume a short somewhere in the wiring. a) where should I look for probable short ? b) where is the compressor located ? c) Is there any way I can check to see if the shocks can be inflated w/o using the compressor ? Not overly interested in the Auto Leveling capabilities, just want to get the back end raised without spending a fortune.

My guess is that your pump motor burned up from constant running. The air shock valve kit is a good way to go on this one. The kits only run about $10 or so. The springs in the rear of many of the MPV's with the ALL system seem to be a little weaker. I had to put a set of air shocks on a MPV that someone had put regular shocks on to replace the original ALL shocks. The van now sits level like it should and can be adjusted. My van had the pump missing and I put the kit in it and it seems to work very well. If you go the route of regular shocks use a high quality gas charged.

Is there a way to disconnect the lines from the existing self leveling shocks and connect a manual air line kit? If so does anyone know where to get the kit?
