Hello , My car is 2000 Mazda Protege 1.6L , 119,390Km ,Problem: push gas pedal, No acceleration.And Engine check Light on (already 6 months). I send it to the garage, was told two O2 sensor should be replaced. I decide to change the timing belt and water pump at same time. After all work done. New problem occured: when the car at idle speed. rpm around 700-1000. the engine shaking too much, and the RPM needle also vibrating. My car was stable before repaired.
Does anyone have a similar problem, and can you tell me what should I do? I disappoint with that garage.. Any help would be appreciated. Many thanks!!!!

Doubt the two O2 sensors would give you zippo acceleration sza737. What was the code number that was stored? Would be much more suspecting of the Mass Air Flow Sensor as there have been a ton of problem with them. Some with symptoms just like yours. Would not be surprised if when they replaced the timing belt they got one of the cams off a tooth which would give you an unstable idle or left a vacuum line off creating a vacuum leak.

yeah sounds like the timing belt is off just by one tooth.

Babyhuey and Wasoape281, Thank you. The problem has solved. the reason is just like what you said. the timing belt was installed wrong. After re-installation, no more shaking.Thanks again.
