My 94 Protege will not shift into second, fourth, or reverse. It was running and shifting perfectly and all of a sudden the shift lever would not move past the neutral position. Any advice?

Is the problem in the transmission shifting while driving or with the shift lever not moving past the N position???

The shift lever won't move past neutral; engine off or on. The clutch and tranny work fine. I can drive the car, but I can only use first, third, and fifth.
