This is my first post on this forum. We just bought a new Mazda 3 2.0i Saturday, and I would like to know if there are any significant mechanical changes between the 2006 and 2007 models. I will probably want to get a sport exhaust in the future, and it sounds like there are fitment issues with exhausts and headers for the 3s as it is, so I think I need to be careful buying parts for the 07.

To my knowledge there weren't any mechanical changes between the '06 and '07 model years.  There were a bunch of minor changes like the face-lift, rear set armrest, etc.

Oh and since you have a new 3i try unlocking the Driver Information System on the HU.  It's only released on the GT trim but some clever people figured out how to activate it on other trim levels.  This only works on '06+ models.

Here are the steps:
-With the engine off, press and hold the CD and AM/FM Buttons.
-Start the engine
-after 5 seconds, you will see "DIS ON" on the LCD
-after you see "DIS ON" release the buttons
-Stop the engine
-Start the engine again
-Push the SET button to see the DIS display (Not sure if this is just the first time, or every time)
-enjoy pulling one over on Mazda and getting a useful feature that they were restricting from you.

Thanks for the info, nice icon, by the way. So you think 06 exhausts should fit my 07 then?

We already have several things showing on the display screen, so what displays would be unlocked on mine?

Well I'm not saying 100% on nothing being changed.  Definitely double check before you buy anything though.

I love my firefox eating ie. :D

The DIS shows you average fuel consupmtion, current mpg, miles to empty, etc.  It's displayed on the left side of the LCD.

I think the exhaust would be the same, but the header (DIS) might be different, as I bleieve the head itself is.  I know this is a lot of guesses and maybe's, but while the chassis and engine block didn't change, there's a good chance the head did.  I base this mostly on pictures I've seen of '06 and later 2.3 engines, and the new FI system.
Ppl w/ '07's tend to complain that CAI's they've purchased, designed for the '04-'06 models don't fit correctly either.
As icspots said, be sure and ask all your questions before you buy, and do your research.

Hi Everyone I have just purchased a 2005 Mazda 3 and i was looking at buying a new radio unit for my car it has the bose system, and climate control

but the question i have is (if i replace my radio with one from a new factory mazda 3 for say a 06-07 and get one that supports driver infomation system  and bose will it work in my car???

and does driver infomation system support (litres per Kilometer?) as well a Miles Per Gallon...

also is Trip Computer and Driver infomation system (DIS) the same thing? because some radio units say with DIS and some with trip computer...

kindest regards

Blake Bernhard
