I would get the V6, and buy one brand new and not used...Possibly leather and a sun roof.  But I love it!

well i bought it used for an awesome deal, so as far as that goes, i wouldnt have done that differently. i couldnt choose from many other mazda's because i was at a toyota dealership. to tell you the truth i wasnt even looking to buy a mazda to begin with.

but if i had my choice (with money being an option of course, I am thinking realistically) possibly a sunroof, fog lights, leather would be nice (not necessary), auto climate control, alloy wheels and manual tranny because too much throttle lag on a 2.3L auto. but it still has decent pick up none-the-less. then again i sit in traffic to and from work every fckn day. i would say the majority of my drives are in traffic so manual would probably suck at that point. no v6 is necessary. once again, it would be nice but not necessary. plus it cost more for the car and gas along with maintenance in the long run. i fill up once every 2 weeks which is fckn awesome and i get close to 400 miles per fill up.

Well, We are getting a 07 Mazda6 with the 3.0L. It has the grand touring package. So leather, sunroof, fogs and all the other fun stuff that goes with that package. I was able to get this car at a real good price. All I can say is, Thanks for "S" pricing for Mazdaspeed competitors. So we have a Black on Black 6 coming next weekend. I will post some picks when we receive the car.

You will like the 6.  A car is more than just transportation, otherwise everyone will be driving a Corolla (reliable and easy on gas).  Leather, sunroof and good sound just make driving more enjoyable.
It's like BBQing instead of boiling a steak in hot water.  Your tummy will be full, but will you mouth like it.

If you are buying a more basic model, at least you can add curtain airbags (are they standard in 07?). That seemed like a smart option. If you have a collection of cassettes, you can still get a player as an option as well.

Just bought the new Mazda 6 Touring Edition. The car itself comes FULLY equiped. ( even includes the iPod connection ). The car only comes in 1 color but its real nice.

I got priced at around 32,000$ canadian for a nice sport GT ( 4 cyl )
I leased my Touring Edition for 23,000$ canadian. Saved basically 9,000+ taxes compared to a GT and the dealer tossed in my last jeep payment AND tints for free. So.. im sure you can get a really good deal on it. Interior is a nice material and in black.

Trust me .. i was looking at the GT for a black on black leather.. found out you can only get it in beige, and was told i needed to get a mazda 6 sport GT. Not the same look.. as i dont like the big window attached to my trunk. So... for 9,000 in my pocket.. i lose out on leather seats, heated seats, and picking my exterior color. BIG DEAL. I get a car with every option i wanted and super low payments.

Check it out.. you might be impressed ; )

You know, the ONLY thing that I don't like about my '04 6S Wagon is the fact that it's friggin' front wheel drive. I wish more automakers would revert back to rear wheel drive, as god herself intended. And I mean on affordable family cars (a Miata isn't gonna cut it for the family beach trip!). Sure, I could get an E Class Mercedes-Benz wagon, but I cannot afford that. I want Hondas, Toyotas, Mazdas, VWs, etc to have rear wheel drive. My brothers and sisters in the snowy climes are surely gonna respond that FWD is great...that's true. Here in NC, though, I have no use whatsoever for FWD. Gimmie back my driveshaft, dammit! Cheers,

David

We can only keep wishing/hoping.  RWD costs more to make: the long drive-shaft, much more complicated rear Ind. suspension, etc.  I think the same 6 in RWD will easily be $5,000 more.

well, this FWD thing bothers me a lot with my 06 mazda 6s. here in middle east u guys aware that its packed with sands. if u go slightly off track or get off the road u'l find urself struck in the sand with this FWD. I had to put some grip mats under the front wheel to pull it out some times. And for comfort, its made for it in terms of value. If i was given an option to change it definitely i would go for V6 manual black for black is my flavour. i think havin a RWD drive atlst in V6 wud be ideal here in this part of the world.
cheers.
