Good Morning All  (if you're in the UK) - afternoon, evening etc for everyone else.

Paid the deposit yesterday on a new 1.8 TS2 - collecting next weekend (with luck).

Just thought I'd drop in and say hello - and get a confirmation that this tyre wear thing is a problem only on the cars with 17" wheels. I read about suspension noise on speed humps as well but we made sure that our test drive took in our own home roads so there's no issue there (we tested the actual car we're buying).

cheers

Terry

Hi Terry, and welcome to our little community!

I think you're right, I've not heard of anyone having tyre problems who hasn't got the 17" wheels, so I think you will be OK with that one. I ordered my car in January 2006, and straight after ordering it I heard about the suspension noises, and as I live in speed-hump town (or it feels like it) I wrote to Mazda whilst still waiting for the car to be delivered, who assured me that the problem had been identified and addressed and that by the time my car was built and delivered it would be to the modified spec. Well, they certainly had time to fix it, as my car just disappeared off the radar and didn't arrive at the dealer for SEVEN months, much to my annoyance. However, having taken delivery of the car in September, and it being a mild winter, it was January before the temperatures dropped to 2C and below, and then what do I hear? - Creak Groan Crunch on every speed hump. I've written to Mazda again who simply told me to inform the dealer when it goes in for the first service, which will be in about 3 weeks time but with the cold spell over I doubt they will believe me!

So, best of luck with the new car, I'm sure you'll love it, but listen out for those creaks and groans next winter!!

Cheers

Dave.

The Citroen Berlingo which we have at the moment creaks in the wet/damp. ho hum.

7 months is a hell of a delivery time - I'm glad we agreed a deal on the showroom car. Paid a deposit yesterday and home to collect it next Saturday if we get registration and a cover note for the tax in time.
