Have a 2002 4Cyl Tribute. Clutch sometimes seems to engage Much too quick and causes engine stutter/jerk. Not the driver as this happens to diff. drivers . Only 1st gear from a dead stop..
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Perhaps a small amount of air in the hydraulic system. This would give you a pedal that engages very close to the floor.

Having the same problem with mine.  Last time it was under warranty and the dealer repaired the clutch.  Less than 2 years and 15K miles it is starting up again.  I am looking for any information on a design or manufacturing defect.
