Does your MPV has 3.0L engine?
For 3.0L engine there is no room for the tools, even for fingers. Distance between plug electronic module and manifold is 10-12mm. May be it is possible to take them off, but how to unscrew spark plugs?

I have a 2000 MPV which only came wth the 2.5L. If you have a 3.0L your MPV is a 2002 or newer. As this thread was started based on a 2000 the remarks are based on that. This might be why you are getting mixed answers. Need to make sure you have the right year.
