Hi, I am new to this forum and have a question regards the Driver's door mounted controls in the UK GSI Tribute.

I know it says in the hand book that when the passenger and rear window switches are de-activated the switches will not be illuminated but the only switch on this panel that is lit regardless of whether the saftety switch  is activated or not is the driver's window switch.

Are all the switches on this panel supposed to be lit?

If so, does each switch have it's own bulb?

How do you remove the control panel?

Any help/info on this one would be greatly appreciated

I looked at several 05's that are in the shop and all of the little arrows on each of the power window buttons as well as the lock and unlock symbols are illuminated when key is on. No illumination of the window disable toggle. I see what you mean about power window lights going out in the owner manual. Try toggling the passenger window disable button and watching the switch illumination at each of the passenger doors. The illumination at the passenger switches will go out and turn on as you toggle. I think this is what the owners manual is referring to.
The main switch is removeable. Pry at the top edge to release the metal retaining clip. Plastic putty knife works good as will not mar the door panel or switch. The bottom is retained by a rigid plastic piece so only pry top. Does not look like any of the lights would be replaceable as am sure they are LED'S.

This shows the metal retaining clip on top and rigid plastic retainer at bottom.

Here is the switch taken about as far apart as I dared without danger of breaking the circuit boards. No bulbs visible at all.

Thanks very much for your help - much appreciated......

"Try toggling the passenger window disable button and watching the switch illumination at each of the passenger doors. The illumination at the passenger switches will go out and turn on as you toggle" - works exactly as you said.

Wiil let you know how I get on with the main switch...

After reading the forum I tried meddling with the central control switch for the windows and found that the illumination lights on the passenger doors go off when the central control is switched off and vice versa. That was helpful. Thanks
