Q: Which CAI is the best?

A: K&N claims to have the best CAI out there but really all a CAI is a bent pipe varying in sizes and a filter on the end of it, so really to find out which CAI is the best u have to determine what are the best angles for the pipe to be bent to get the most airflow, but they all really give the same hp/tq increase.
________________________________________________________________________________
Q: What does CAI stand for?

A: Cold Air Intake

Q: Does adding a intake and or exhaust void my warrenty if its not mazdaspeed?

A: Only if something major happens and it caused by the intake or exhaust
________________________________________________________________________________
Q: Do parts for the 2.3l engine fit the 2.0l?

A: All exhaust, head, and intake parts
________________________________________________________________________________
Q: Whats the diff between the 2.0 and 2.3l motors?

A: The 2.3l has higher compression so it has a longer stroke for more tq, and hp/tq other than that they are the same motor
________________________________________________________________________________
Q: Which turbo kit is the best?

A: Hiboost is the only one left
________________________________________________________________________________
Q: Is it cheaper to make a custom kit or just buy one?

A: Although it MIGHT be cheaper for the parts themself, u will be paying out the ass if you plan letting a shop make on for you plus countless days without your car, not even mentioning that its a lot riskier.
________________________________________________________________________________
Q: When does the speed governor kick in and how do i get rid of it?

A: The limiter kicks in exactly 118mph, there is only one known way of getting rid of it is by getting the stand alone fuel computer from Hiboost provided by Haltech
________________________________________________________________________________
Q: Is it really worth getting the Hiboost kit?

A: Dunno...is it really worth living?
________________________________________________________________________________
Q: Which is safer to turbo 2.0 or 2.3?

A: The 2.0 because it has storter stroke = less speed = less heat = less likely to blow
________________________________________________________________________________
Q: Is it illegal to put on any performace parts?

A: To put it simple its like this....when it comes to performance if it dont come from factory its ILLEGAL.

Q: Whats the difference between the models between 04 and 07?

A: The differences are that most problems with the 04 were fixed in the 05, the 07's just have different body dimensions in the front and rear bumper and wheels, but have the same bolt patteren if you wanna throw on a bodykit, oh and the 07's have a extra cat convertor after the exhaust mani, so intead of 2 (as if that werent bad enough) they have 3.

virgin1 -> RE: Most FAQ's for this section (2/28/2008 5:05:06 PM)

Hmmm...?  I don't know for sure.  I wouldn't think so, but an '07 will.

M3 For Second Time -> RE: Most FAQ''s for this section (6/24/2008 6:15:33 PM)

I''m curious about that factoid.  Why?  Well, per the Mazda web site http://www.mazdausa.com/MusaWeb/displayPage.action?pageParameter=modelsSpecs&vehicleCode=M3S the 2.0 has a HIGHER compression ratio (10.0:1) compared to the 2.3 (9.7:1).  Maybe something changed since you originally posted this FAQ.  Yes, no?

Q: Which is safer to turbo 2.0 or 2.3?

A: The 2.0 because it has shorter stroke = less speed = less heat = less likely to blow
________________________________________________________________________________

I''m curious about this factoid as well.  Why?  Well, conventional wisdom suggests that it''s safer to breath on engines with lower compression ratios, and as the 2.0 has a higher compression ratio than the 2.3, I would think that the 2.3 would be safer to blow.  As if to underscore this point, I just took a look at the compression ratio of the MazdaSpeed3, and it has an even lower compression ratio (9.5:1).

Thoughts?
