5000 only? - 1/23/2007 7:08:34 PM    Draconius   Posts: 242 Joined: 1/10/2007 Status: offline I have heard that there are only going to be 5000 Mazdaspeed 3's imported to the US the first year.  I am a little skeptical about that since my local dealership has gotten 10 so far this year.  That would leave only 500 mazda dealerships.  Now is it 5000 Base and 5000 GT models of the speed3? I think the 5000 is a low number.  If there are only that many why not number each one off the line that way we know they are a limited number and we know which one we had?    Post #: 1

RE: 5000 only? - 1/23/2007 9:58:59 PM    MikeMS3 Posts: 194 Joined: 12/12/2006 Status: offline The main fact has already been stated.  There are far fewer dealers that are licensed for Mazdaspeed vehicles.  The Speed dealer closest to me (with four reg dealers bewtween me and it) has only recieved two.  One of which i parked out back 15minutes ago :)  The word from Corporate Mazda back before the first ones left our stateside docks was, 5000 over here, and 12k total production.  What sounds low is the 12k lol i can see the 5k here but only 7k yet for world wide?  The number in question is possibly how many Mazdaspeed3's and howmany Mazda3 MPS's???  Note that Europe and such recieve the same car with only a smaller spoiler and more underbody equip becaus typically they go much faster than we do.  This car called the Mazda3 MPS.  So my question is are their 12k Mazdaspeed badges in the world and then more MPS's on top of that??  Get what i'm saying.  So there may be a play on words here.  But as for US soil we shoiuld see only 5k for the 2007 model year.  Keep in mind that this IS without a doubt a limited vehicle.  you won't just find them on lots everywhere when the 08 models start shipping.  The Mazdaspeed6, on the other hand did, and the dealer i bought from had three at my sale time.  But sales on the Speed6 have not done what they expected.  The Speed3 on the other hand is sensationaly and no one can honestly say anything substantially bad about it.  Though pissed off NEON owners will try.  ^^  This one will sell and i know first hand dealers are selling it at a 28k premium! RE: 5000 only? - 1/24/2007 7:36:34 AM    JungleBoogieMonster   Posts: 4 Joined: 1/22/2007 Status: offline Has anyone heard about numbers for 08?  Will it even be offered in 08?  Sometimes car companies come out with hot cars in very limited numbers for promotional purposes and sales numbers don't matter.  I'm hoping that either this isn't the case with the the Speed 3 or, if it is, that the car gets to see several model years before production is stopped. Where I live we have only 1 speed certified dealer. I actually went to the next city over, Syracuse, for mine because my local dealer couldnt get another black mica GT like they said they could....I dont know numbers for 2008-but there will be more colors....Ive seen picts of the yellow and white one-freaking hot looking colors. But hey you never know, the speed 6 was supposed to only have one year of production, then they had to make 07s when the new model got delayed. and 5-12k may see low....but imagine there were only 25K SRT-4's made in the US over 4 years.....yet you still see them alot.
