92 B2600 4x4 Fuel gauge

I have a 92 B2600 4x4 reg. cab 5spd. When the fuel level is right above "E", and when I fill up the tank from there, only at most 11 gallons of gas will go in. Also the fuel gauge would only read a little above 3/4 of a tank. Checked the fuel tank and there is no damage. Has anyone had this problem before? Not a big concern, but just would like to know if it will hold more fuel. Thanks, any help would be appreciated.

no real problem but it is a faulty sending unit possibly the float in the tank more than likely the actual guage in the dash if you run a jumper wire into the harness and jump the power and return wire together the guage shoot shoot up to full. Sounds like a faulty feul guage to me kelly

my 89 b2200 does the same thing with the fuel gauge. im pretty sure thats just the way they are. when the meter is at E it still has 3 more gallons left. its kinda wierd
