I received from an estate a whole skid of Mazda Auto Parts - in the original boxes.  But the part numbers on the boxes are apparently from old system of numbers.  Each box is from Mazda Japan with both Japanese and English language and has the part number and description.  Examples are: GA 9969170 Remote Contolled Mirror;    FA 02 66 120 (spaces included on box) - I think this is the multi-control stalk that fits onto the steering column; and,  UA 14 55 481 Combination Gauge.

I would like to find out how to determine model and year so I can sell these; versus throwing them away.  The local Mazda dealership won't help, I have called parts places and apparently only use the new part nomenclatures and do not have access to the old nomenclature.

Any one help me on this?[code]

Wow, what a lucky find for you!!! All three of those parts are no longer available from Mazda.
Took a little bit of tinkering on Mazda EPC but part numbers are same, just the spacing is changed. Just rearrange the letter/numbers to this format. XXXX-XX-XXX.
GA9969170 becomes GA99-69-170 which comes up on Mazda Parts Computer as a left door mirror that would fit a 83-85 626. You would have to talk a local Mazda parts guy into the search procedure. Even taught our parts guys this one as they did not think it would work. Here's how.

With no vehicle selected on Mazda EPC, open the 'search' window and enter the part number. After considerable gear whirring in the computer it will spit out what it is and also what vehicles it would fit on.
Then you can do a "parts availability inquiry" on Mazda secure website under eMDCS and it will tell you most of the time it any are still available in US or Canada and which dealers might have one in stock. Mazda EPC only goes back to 1977 so if part is for something older it would probably not work.

All three of those parts are no longer available. Mirror for the 83-85 626 had retail price of $184.20
FA02-66-120 is a combination switch for a 81-83 RX-7 with retail of $439.52.
UA14-55-481 is a fuel and temp gauge for a 82-84 B2000 and B2200 pick-up. Would not give a retail on that one. Just NLA or No Longer Available.

Hi!  So many thanks!  I have tried for a couple of years off and on on this.  Thought I would give it one last try.  Even called national Mazda and they said it no longer was in the computer.  I just happened to google (or dogpile) again and saw a link to forum and finally got this one.  Sir, I have one question - as I am new to this:  Where is Mazda EPC (mazda usa website?) emdcs?   I will try it while awaiting a reply from you.   saratogan@comcast.net   I owe you something.  Let me know.

Sorry for the acronyms saratogan. They were primarily meant as a guide to your local dealer as they would know. eMDCS is Mazda Dealer Communication System. Would need to be affiliated with Mazda and have a user name and password as it is a secure site not available to general public. Only gettting some prices off of it though. EPC is where you will get most of your information about the mystery part numbers. It is Electronic Parts Catalog and is the computer program that the dealer parts department uses to look up Mazda parts to put simply. Sorry to hear your dealer is not willing to help.

8238-55-170 is a left side rear view mirror (remote control type) for an 81-82 626. retail $314.25

BE33-55-488 is an instrument cluster lens (equipped with tachometer) for an 83-85 GLC Sedan or Hatchback. Retail is $132.05

H015-72-350B did not come up. However could it be a H015-72-3508 instead?? This comes up as a Right rear power door lock controller/motor for an 83-85 626 Sedan or Hatchback. No retail available.

A204069E Not found yet.
