To all speed6 owners I have a question about the exhaust! I have noticed that on my exhaust tips that the outlet is very black from the exhaust. Is this just because I am just breaking it in or is my car running to rich. I have just over 1000 miles on my car now. I called the dealer he said he was going to talk to his head mechanic and get back to me. But i wanted to see some feed back from other owners as well. Thanx

There's nothing wrong with your car. Mine does it too as will pretty much any car. Because the speed 6 has forced induction, in the higher revs and at full throttle, the mixture is richened to about 10:1 which is a little on the rich side, but that's the way they programmed it to be safe and avoid detonation. In short, your car is fine.

All exhaust pipes are black because carbon is a by product of gas being burned. It shows up more on ours is bcause the exhaust tips are chrome and extend out farther than the pipes.

The reason for the black tips is because this car runs PIG RICH. so rich that its actually robbing are car of power. Just by leaning this car out a point or two you will see a increase in HP. I can't wait for tuning :)

yes it does run pig rich, but it's their kind of safety against detonation as it helps cool the incoming air. But raising it to an AFR of 11-11.5:1 wouldn't hurt.

This is very normal. It's worse in around town driving, less on the highway. If you drank the gas that's out there with all of it's additives, your tailpipe would be sooted up, too!!!
